The furry art gallery world was stagnating. Promises of new features and openness and code rewrites were not being met. More and more ads seemed to be taking over the space once dedicated to showcasing our creative works. We dealt with months of downtime.

This is how it was and Metafur was created to challenge all that. With openness and freedom for your creative work as its primary goal I created Metafur as an answer to this lack of excellence.

Metafur is set apart in three key ways:

• We are open source and open mind, we give back to the community that created us
• We are beholden to the community and not to advertiser dollars, we create the site you want and you have a direct hand in what gets built here
• We utilize new technology and integrate with old to bring you the best of all possible worlds
