The usage of this site is governed by the following terms and conditions. If you create an account at MetaFur you indicate your agreement to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms do not use this site.

Main Points

• We are not responsible for user generated or posted content
• User generated content (for example but not limited to: Submissions, Comments, and News postings) does not necessarily reflect to opinions, views, or concerns of MetaFur or professionally related parties or partners
• Users agree to take full responsibility for any actions they initiate with MetaFur and agree not to hold MetaFur, professionally related parties and partners liable for their own actions
• Be excellent to each other. Don't harass, harm, or attempt to harm other users of MetaFur.

Accounts, Profiles, and Personal Information

All personal information, as defined by the privacy policy, submitted to MetaFur will be treated in accordance with the privacy policy.

• In order to comply with various regulations MetaFur may not be used by individuals younger than 13 years of age. If a user is suspected of being less than 13 years of age their account will be suspended without warning until that user can provide proof of age to a MetaFur representative.
• You will provide accurate, truthful, and thorough information during the account creation process
• You will keep profile information up to date, though you are free to not submit non-required information.
• MetaFur may contain content of a mature nature. If you choose to enable the visibility of such content then you agree that:
  • you are of at least 18 years of age or the age required by their legal jurisdiction to view such material
  • you have reviewed local laws and regulations and you accept full liability if such regulations prohibit the receipt, display, or consumption of such material

Acceptable Submissions and Postings

In general, works that are not explicitly forbidden by these terms or by your local regulations and laws are allowed. However, changes to the acceptable submissions policy may be made retroactive in the case of complaints or legal requirements as seen fit by agents of MetaFur. This means that existing submissions which contravene the revised policy could be hidden from public view and that you would be asked to remove such works from the site.

You agree not to post or cause to be posted the following types of works:

• Works which depict human minors or characters which could be construed to be human minors in sexually explicit situations or situations which are implied to be sexually explicit. Violation of this regulation is grounds for immediate account termination and the release of any and all records and submitted personal information to the appropriate authorities as determined by an agent of MetaFur
• Photographs which depict exposed human or animal genitalia. The exposure of animal genitalia is permitted so long as it is not the main focus of the photograph as determined by agents of MetaFur.
• Photographs which depict items primarily sexual in nature (for example but not limited to: adult 'toys' or specially modified plushes or fursuits) as determined by an agent of MetaFur
• Photographs which depict acts of violence, death, wounds, or "shock" images (as determined by an agent of MetaFur)
• Multiple copies of the same work. What constitutes same is determined by an agent of MetaFur and may include material which is only slightly different. Users are bound by agent decisions regarding work sameness.

Copyrights, Trademarks, and other Intellectual Property

You agree to post only materials in which you wholly own all copyrights, trademarks, and any other intellectual property. The only exceptions to this policy are when you can produce, on demand, a written statement of license by the owner of said property providing permission for use or the work has been specifically drawn for you (by either commission or gift) and is clearly marked as such. MetaFur must adhere to the DMCA Safe Harbour provisions and must remove material when presented with a take down request. However, you are free to file a counter notice with us if the work is not a violation of copyright and we will repost the work.

Emergent Situations

An emergent situation is defined as a circumstance which does or could affect the availability, performance, or user's enjoyment of the MetaFur service negatively as discerned by agents of MetaFur. You agree that professionally related parties of MetaFur may take any actions on your account as required to contain and control emergent situations as defined by agents of MetaFur. In addition, you agree to release MetaFur and any authorized agent of MetaFur from any and all liability for loss of access and/or data that results from any action taken against an account to resolve an emergent situation. Any and all actions taken by MetaFur agents during the emergent situation will be posted to the MetaFur site following resolution of the incident. In the case of web site bugs which are security holes, details of the security hole may be withheld until a fix is deployed and released.

Site Availability

MetaFur is provided to users as a convenience and free of charge. Thus, it is run on a best effort basis. This means that we will take all the steps we can to prevent downtime and data loss. However, you agree that while we will take every step possible to ensure up-time and guard against data loss you will not hold MetaFur or agents of MetaFur or partners of MetaFur liable for any losses due to scheduled or unscheduled downtime or any other lack of availability or data loss. Because sometimes the inconceivable happens, MetaFur reserves the right to discontinue operations at any time for any reason without notice.

Enforcement of Policy Violations

A user found to have violated these Terms Of Service forfeits their account and the privileges which accompany said account. The following actions will take place after an account is terminated:

• The user will be given a pseudo-private link which they can use to download their stored data should they have any.

At the sole discretion of an agent of MetaFur a user committing this violation may instead be warned or suspended.

A warning consists of:

• a written notice of violation
• a summary of findings containing a summary of the offending content and how it violated the acceptable posting policy, if applicable

A suspension (also known as a ban) is a timed revocation of access privileges beginning immediately. During a suspension users will still be able to access and download their own account data but they will be unable to interact with other users of the site. Records of all administrator actions will be available for public review. However, submissions, comments, postings, or any other material that was the basis of the administrator action may not necessarily be available if it contravened the acceptable postings policy. In this case the administrator will summarize how this content violated the acceptable postings policy.

Changes to this policy

Changes to this policy may take place immediately and at any time. Once the Beta period is over, users will be notified and asked to accept the changed terms of service on their next login. Until then a news posting will be created to notify beta users of the change in terms. Users will not be asked if such changes do not materially change the agreement laid out here (for example, minor spelling and grammar corrections) as determined by an agent of MetaFur. Changelogs will be posted to this page.

Legalese

Should any part of this contract be deemed unenforceable for any reason then the user agrees that all other provisions shall be enforced. Changes to this agreement may only be made by an agent of MetaFur and shall take effect as specified under the 'Changes to this policy' section.
